Overview
Our K-12 Scholarship program is funded through the POISE Primary and Secondary Education Fund. This fund is supported through donations from corporations that are approved through the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development.
To be eligible for a K-12 scholarship you have to meet the following criteria:
Student must attend a private school located in Allegheny County.
Family income cannot exceed $105,183. However, for each dependent as defined by the IRS living within the same household, you can increase your income by $18,514.
Must have unpaid expenses at time of application. POISE will not reimburse a family who has already paid tuition for the school year.
Please note that the average scholarship amount is $900. POISE Foundation is not able to provide a scholarship for every family that applies.
To apply for the POISE FOUNDATION K-12 Scholarship, you must use our new online application process. The online system requires you to complete the application form as well as upload a copy of your most recent Income Tax Return (IRS Form 1040, W2). If for some reason you did not complete the IRS Form 1040, please upload copies of documentation that validates your current year household income (example: pay stubs, AFDC, TANF or social security benefits). Your application will not be considered without the completed online form as well as the uploaded document(s). POISE Foundation will not upload documents
