Established in 2007 by her family. Income is to be used for scholarships for African American students.

Afro American Music Institute Fund

Agency

Established in 1997 by the Afro American Music Institute, this fund provides support to AAMI.

Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Omicron Alumni Scholarship Fund

Scholarship

Established in 2004 by the Omicron Alumni Association. Income is to be used for members of Alpha Phi Alpha Omicron Chapter pursuing an undergraduate degree.

Andrea Renee Umphrey Educational Scholarship Fund

Scholarship

Established in 2004 by the family and friends of Andrea Renee Umphrey who was a tragic victim of violence. The purpose of the fund is to provide educational assistance to her children as well as others who may have lost a parent to violence. Grants to individuals other than the children will not occur until after the children’s educational needs have been satisfied.

Anna Mae Jones and Lucille H. Jones Pennywell Fund

Established in 1980 by the children, family and friends of Anna Mae Jones and Lucille H. Jones Pennywell. Income for scholarship aid.

Annette Cuffee Gillcrese Charitable Fund

Established in 2014, income from this fund will be used for the charitable purposes of the donor.

Annette Cuffee Gillcrese Christian Fund

Established in 1992, the income from this fund will be used to support Christian education and other activities of Bidwell Presbyterian Church in Pittsburgh, PA.

Anthony S. Fountain and Alissa Fountain-Burse Scholarship Fund

Scholarship

Established in 2007 by Anthony S. Fountain. The income from this fund is to be used to provide scholarships based upon criteria as described by the Donor.

Barbara A. Manison Memorial Scholarship

Scholarship

Established in 2021 by Derek Manison in honor of his mother Barbara A. Manison. The purpose of the fund is to acknowledge the academic success of Pittsburgh, PA area African American high school seniors in their pursuant of higher education at a Historically Black College or University (HBCU).

Barbara Ann McCants Distribution Fund

Distribution

Established in 2011 by the family of Barbara McCants. This fund will provide support for the Barbara Ann McCants fund for a period of five years and then cease.

Barbara Ann McCants Endowment Fund

Donor Designated

Established in 2011 by the Family of Barbara Ann McCants. Grants will be awarded to support the Barbara McCants Garden Project through the Young Men and Women of African Heritage Association. If this project ceases to exist, a committee will determine the purpose of grants.

Beafus and Mayple McAfee Trust Fund

Established in 1992 by the friends, family and members of Emory United Methodist Church in honor of Beafus and Mayple McAffee. Income is unrestricted.

Bernard H. Jones Memorial Fund

This fund was established by Dr. June Pickett Dowdy in 2016 as a distribution fund to support the work of the Dr. Edna B. McKenzie Branch of the Association of the Study of African American Life and History. Funds will be accepted for the work of the branch through contributions made by others in memory of “those who have gone before us and paved the way”. Distributions from this subfund honor the memory of Bernard Jones, Sr.

Betty and James Robinson Scholarship Fund

Established in 1997 by Betty and James Robinson for purposes of awarding scholarships to students who participated in Manchester Youth Development Corporation.

Betty J. Tilman Good Neighbor Legacy Fund

Established in 2016 by her Daughter The income from this fund is to be used for organizations or venues that bring awareness to the importance of nurturing children/young adults so that they become critical thinkers and know the history of those who have created Pathways of Hope in Western Pennsylvania and the World. It will help educate the community and encourage participation in projects that help children/young adults learn to embrace their culture, use their creativity and technology, develop their intellectual acumen, understand the legislative process, as well as the importance and power of the vote in a democratic society; And become good citizens of the World. It will honor the legacy of Betty J. Tilman and others who act as Go-Givers.

BettyDavisBold Scholarship Fund

Scholarship

Established in remembrance of the bold talent and infectious spirit of Betty Davis, Queen of Funk Music. BettyDavisBold Scholarship is open to youth around the world pursuing careers in entertainment and fine arts fields. The selection process will include the submission of essays, music, and art. Grants will also be awarded to greater Pittsburgh area agencies/organizations that promote and support the arts.

Bill Nunn III Legacy Fund

This fund was established in 2016 by the family and friends of Bill Nunn, III.  The purpose of the fund is to primarily support the Bill Nunn Theatre Outreach Project which has a mission to create a platform for underserved public school students in the Pittsburgh region to gain access to theatre arts and work with seasoned professionals within the field.

Black Equity Coalition

The Black Equity Coalition Fund was created in July 2020 by The Black Equity Coalition to address health disparities that exists between the Black and White community in Pittsburgh, PA and other select cities. The fund was established as a response to the COVID-19 Pandemic but was designed to address long term comorbidity issues that have existed for many years.

Black Girls Drone

Established in 2022 by Black Girls Drone, the fund’s goal is to prepare black girls and other under resourced audiences for careers in technology by introducing the technical, opportunity and earning potential of becoming drone literate.

Black Tech Nation

Established in 2020 by Kelauni Cook, Founder of Black Tech Nation to receive funds to support Black Tech Nation’s digital education program for Black people in tech.

BME – Freedom Indeed

This fund was established in 2018 to support the Freedom Indeed Project created by Cornell Jones with initial funding through BME Genius award. This program is designed to train ex-offender men and women on how to learn every position in the internet radio field.
