The Black Equity Coalition Fund was created in July 2020 by The Black Equity Coalition to address health disparities that exists between the Black and White community in Pittsburgh, PA and other select cities. The fund was established as a response to the COVID-19 Pandemic but was designed to address long term comorbidity issues that have existed for many years.

BME – Freedom Indeed

This fund was established in 2018 to support the Freedom Indeed Project created by Cornell Jones with initial funding through BME Genius award. This program is designed to train ex-offender men and women on how to learn every position in the internet radio field.

Greater Pittsburgh Arts Project

Established in 2022, GPAP acts as a robust resource hub, connecting artists with private, public, and nonprofit organizations that offer funding and other support (including mental health support) for Pittsburgh’s arts community members.

Juneteenth

Established in 2013 by Stop the Violence Pittsburgh (William Marshall) to support various community cultural and education programs with a specific emphasis on celebrating Juneteenth in the City of Pittsburgh.

Melanate.

Melanate., spearheaded by founder Sadé Dozan, is a visionary initiative reshaping philanthropy at the crossroads of empowerment and resource-building transformation. With a three-fold vision, Melanate. pioneers the Certified FREed Fund, propelling Black women fundraisers toward Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) certification while fostering a supportive community.

Next Generation Equitable Solutions

Established in 2023 by Davis Consulting Solutions to help increase the overall economic mobility of minorities through recruitment processes to diversify staffing for employers and outreach strategies for their participation in procurement opportunities.

Operation Amani

Fiscal Sponsorship

Founded in 2023 by Cornell Jones this focuses on peacebuilding and therapeutic services through a wraparound model that focuses on youth and adults.

Philadelphia Black Giving Circle

Established in 2017 by the Founding Members of The Philadelphia Black Giving Circle. Its purpose is to assist charitable organizations in Philadelphia that support the city’s black community. This fund supports the Giving Circle’s grants to eligible organizations.

Pittsburgh Hardball Academy

Established in 2020 by Nelson Cooper and Brian Jacobson, Pittsburgh Hardball Academy looks to enrich the lives of underrepresented and underserved youth in the Greater Pittsburgh region via the games of baseball and softball, year-round academic & social enrichment programming, college advisement & recruiting services, and high-level travel teams while leveraging donations to remove barriers to entry.

Professional Women’s Network (PWN)

Established in 2022 by PROFESSIONAL WOMEN’S NETWORK, the fund supports women of color to excel in their personal and professional lives through networking and engagement opportunities.
