We envision a Pittsburgh Region in which all members of the Black Community are empowered and self-sufficient.
He is a native of Pittsburgh, and a graduate of Michigan State University. Mark spent 13 years working for Price Waterhouse and Ernst & Young LLP providing auditing and consulting services. He became a Certified Public Accountant in 1991. He joined POISE in 2002 as its second President.
He serves on several boards including: Program to Aid Citizen Enterprise; Habitat for Humanity of Greater Pittsburgh; Boy Scouts LHC, Scout Reach; Kappa Scholarship Endowment Fund, Support America’s Teachers, and Carlow College President’s Advisory Council. He has served on the following boards: Urban Youth Action, Community Investment Network, August Wilson Center, Bayer Center for Nonprofit Management, Sustainable Pittsburgh, Grantmakers of Western PA, and EQT GP Services LLC, a public corporation. He is an active member of Deliverance Baptist Church where he serves as an Elder and Trustee. He is a graduate of Leadership Pittsburgh XXII and a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity.
Mr. Lewis is the co-founder of the African American Funders Group, and the Sankofa Fund of Southwest PA a giving circle comprised of African Americans in the Pittsburgh region.
