INVESTING IN THE BLACK COMMUNITIES OF TOMORROW
The Kappa Scholarship Endowment Fund of Western PA (“KSEF”) was the brainchild of Mr. Thomas A. Motley, Sr., past Polemarch of the Pittsburgh Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. KSEF was created as the philanthropic arm of the Pittsburgh Alumni Chapter to offer financial assistance via scholarships and financial awards to support the needs of African American students at the undergraduate level. Over the past 30 years, KSEF has provided over $3 million dollars in financial support to over 190 minority college-bound students from Western PA.
This Scholarship is limited to high school seniors who are interested in attending Duquesne University. KSEF Duquesne University Scholarship is for students attending any of the schools at the university.
Minimum Requirements
Student must live in the Greater Pittsburgh Region (Allegheny County,
Beaver County, Washington County, Westmoreland County, Armstrong
County, or Butler County)
Must have a minimum GPA of 3.3
Be in the top 10% of their class (if ranked)
Demonstrate leadership and/or community service
Special consideration will be given to applicants who’ve overcome
hardship, disability, a difficult personal situation, or faced some other
disadvantage
Preference is given to African American students
One (1) Full tuition scholarship (not including room and board) for a student attending any of the schools at Duquesne University.
The application period for 2025 is currently open. It will close January 31, 2025.
