KARRIS M. JACKSON

President & Chief Operating Officer

Karris M. Jackson is the President and Chief Operating Officer of POISE Foundation, a community foundation dedicated to advancing the African American community. In her role, Ms. Jackson oversees the foundation’s daily operations, guiding its efforts to create meaningful impact through philanthropic initiatives. She is deeply committed to innovating philanthropy by fostering greater inclusivity and addressing critical issues affecting the Black community.

Ms. Jackson holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from Allegheny College, a Master of Science in Secondary School Administration from Duquesne University, and a Certificate in Nonprofit Management from Harvard University. Additionally, she earned a Master of Theological Studies with a concentration in Biblical Studies and Urban Ministry from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary.

As an active member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Coraopolis, PA, Ms. Jackson leads Women’s Bible Study and teaches Sunday School and Youth Church.

Her leadership extends beyond POISE Foundation, as she serves on various local nonprofit boards and has earned numerous accolades throughout her career. Notable recognitions include the Emerging Leader in Philanthropy Award from the Association of Black Foundation Executives, Pittsburgh Magazine’s 40 Under 40, and the New Pittsburgh Courier’s 50 Women of Excellence.

Ms. Jackson is married to Calvin Jackson, Jr., and they are the proud parents of three children and two grandchildren.
