Welcome to the New POISE Portal!

Welcome to the POISE Portal! As part of our commitment to being a supportive, responsive, and trusted Foundation, the Portal provides convenient access to key information about your fund. This guide will introduce you to the basics of the Portal. If you have any questions, the POISE staff can assist you.

Note: Certain features of the Portal may be specific to certain account types.

How to Log In

If You Already Have a Login:

Select “Login with username/password” and enter your existing credentials. Depending on the strength of your password, you may be prompted to create a new one.

 

To Set Up A Username and Password:

  1. Select the Profile icon at the top-right corner of the Portal.

  2. Click on Profile and then select Security from the left-hand menu.

  3. Enter your username and password here. We recommend using your primary email address as your username.

For Fund Advisors

Upon logging in, you will see all of the funds you advise. Select the relevant fund to view its details.

After logging in, you can explore the tabs on the left side of the page to access the following:

  • Fund Summary: Get an overview of the fund’s current balance, total grants and contributions, and activity charts. Use the drop-down menu to switch between different funds.

  • Donations: View a list of individuals who have contributed to the fund.

  • Grants: Access information on both historical and recurring grants, and manage them (edit or cancel as needed).

  • Make a Grant Request: Submit a request for a grant from your fund.

  • Vouchers and Invoices (if applicable): View any vouchers or invoices linked to the fund.

  • Resources/Documents: Review fund agreements and current or past statements.

  • Donate Tab: Navigate to the Giving Hub to explore other funds at the Foundation for donations.

The Fund Summary tab provides:

  • The current balance of your fund.
  • Total grants and contributions.
  • Charts displaying the fund's activity.


If you manage multiple funds, a drop-down menu will allow you to switch between them easily.

The Donations tab lists all individuals who have donated to your fund.

The Grants tab displays both historical and recurring grants. You can also edit or cancel grants as needed.

The Make a Grant Request tab allows you to request a grant from your fund.

  1. Click Create Grant Request in the top-right corner to begin.
  2. Choose one of the following options:
    • Previous Grantee: Select a grantee you’ve donated to before.
    • Search Grantee: Search for a grantee by name, address, or EIN. The search will look through POISE’s database and Candid for matching organizations.
    • Enter a Grantee Manually: Enter the grantee's name, address, zip code, and phone number to initiate due diligence by POISE staff.

Once the grant request form is complete, click Submit.

The Invoices/Vouchers tab provides detailed information about invoices submitted and/or vouchers paid by the fund.

The Resources and Documents tab provides access to:

  • Current and previous fund statements.

The Donate tab directs you to the Giving Hub, where you can explore and contribute to other funds at the Foundation. Click here to go directly to the Giving Hub.

I want to update my information. Can I do that in the Portal?

You can update your personal information in the portal. Click the profile icon in the upper right-hand corner, then proceed to edit the information. Any changes made in the portal will be reflected in the Foundation’s internal records.

I want to update the fund's information. Can I do that in the Portal?

No. If you want to update details for the fund, such as adding an advisor, please contact POISE Foundation at info@poisefdn.org.

How will I know if I submitted a grant successfully?

You can check the status of the grant in the Grant Request tab of the portal. Additionally, you should receive an email grant confirmation once the grant has been posted and sent to the grantee.

How long does it take to process a grant recommendation?

Grant recommendations are usually processed within 7-10 business days. Occasionally, it is necessary to adjust this timeline due to holidays or other one-time occurrences.

How will I know when my grant is processed?

All fund advisors will receive an email notification when a grant is posted and paid. If you do not want this notification, please contact POISE Foundation. In addition, you can always check the status of a grant in the portal.

On what devices may I access the Fund Portal?

The new portal is compatible with most devices that can access the internet through a web browser. However, there is no separate app for the system.

*Google Chrome is the most compatible browser to use with the portal.

Can I find my tax receipts in the Portal?

Currently, tax receipts are not available in the portal. The system automatically emails a tax receipt when your gift is processed. If there is no email on file, a receipt is sent via USPS. Please email POISE at info@poisefdn.org to receive a new copy of a tax receipt.

I want my Portal experience to be the most secure. What recommendations do you have?

To make your portal experience as secure as possible, we recommend the following steps:

  1.   Navigate to the Profile tab, then select Security on the right-hand side. Click the Change Username button and create a username that is not your primary email address.
  2.   Either login with a pin every time or enable two-step verification. To enable two-factor authentication, navigate to the upper right-hand corner of the Fund Portal, then select Security. You should see a 2-Step Verification Enable button to turn this functionality on.
How quickly will a donation show up in my Fund Portal?

Donations made via credit card will be processed immediately. For donations made by check, please allow up to ten business days for processing. During peak times, such as the end of the calendar year, processing may take longer than usual.
