Frank E. Bolden Scholarship Fund

The Frank E. Bolden Scholarship Fund was established in 1998 to provide scholarships for students who are pursuing a teaching career in Early Childhood Education or Special Education in accredited education programs in Western Pennsylvania.

To be eligible for the scholarship applicants must:

  1. Be an undergraduate or graduate education student pursuing a Special Education or Early Childhood teaching certification in the state of Pennsylvania.

  2. Provide evidence of enrollment (or intent to enroll) for Special Education or Early Childhood teaching certification

  3. Provide evidence of community service work with children.

  4. Intend to pursue a career focusing on the education and development of special needs children.

  5. Attend a college or university within the 18 county Western Pennsylvania area (Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Clarion, Crawford, Erie, Fayette, Forest, Greene, Indiana, Jefferson, Lawrence, Mercer, Venango, Warren, Westmoreland, and Washington counties) that offers a teachers certification program in Special Education or Early Childhood.

One (1) scholarship worth $3,650 was awarded in 2022..
